About Me
After having 5 children I became a fully insured clinical Reflexologist with level 3 diploma from the Jubilee College under David Wayte, using the most up to date reflexology techniques and I have 12 years experience.
In March 2011 I started training with the internationally renowned Tony Porter to become ART (Advanced Reflexology Training) registered. Tony has been performing and researching reflexology since 1972 and from this he has developed deeper techniques to address the problems, that a lot of standard reflexology barely scratch the surface of. My clients have reported improved circulation and joint suppleness since using these techniques.
I have also attended a workshop on Fertility Issues and Maternity Reflexology. I have training in "Fingers Free Reflexology" which has given me extra reflexology techniques to use with my clients.
I am a full member of the Association of Reflexologists AOR, the foremost organisation for maintaining high professional standards. One of the criteria for being a Member of the AOR is continuing professional development (CPD). CPD focuses on developing my knowledge through attending reflexology seminars, workshops, reading up to date reflexology literature, and sharing my skills practically with fellow professionals. This aims to improve skills and service to the client.
In the 70s I did a weekend introductory course in reflexology and I was amazed at how relaxed I felt and the effect that it had on releasing the premenstrual tension I had been suffering with. During that weekend another woman realised that a visit to the opticians and subsequent wearing of glasses coincided with dropping a heavy piece of furniture on the eye reflex of her foot, even though she had not connected the two events at the time. I have always been impressed how a reflexology treatment gives a similar feeling to a full body massage.
I qualified as an Indian Head Masseuse in 2000 with the Institute for Health and Holistic Therapies. This is also a wonderful treatment which helps with the stresses and tensions of modern living and like reflexology it may help alleviate a variety of symptoms.
In 2011 I qualified in Hot Stone Massage and the treatment I give is definitely the deluxe version because I use a lot of stones placed on the body, through towels, as well as using them to massage with.
I have also qualified in Deep Tissue and Therapeutic Massage.
I have been working with people with all sorts of issues ranging from muscular and joint pain, to digestive disorders, from fertility issues to clients living with a long term debilitating illnesses. My regular clients include reflexologists, massage therapists and doctors which I think reflects my dedication for giving therapeutic and relaxing treatments.
I see clients in my fully equipped treatment room, where they are made to feel comfortable, relaxing to gentle music, with essential oils and candles. I have had comments about the stillness and peace that people experience in my treatment room, which helps them get the full benefit from a session. A treatment is tailored after taking a detailed medical history and looking at lifestyle. I do not diagnose or claim to cure as I am not a medical practitioner.
